Electrolysis is a procedure for removing individual hairs permanently from the face or body utilizing probe devices. A fine sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a small amount of electrical energy is discharged (for about two seconds) which destroys the hair growth tissue, after which the hair is removed with tweezers.
The total number of sessions needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. On average, it takes 8 to 12 electrolysis sessions over a period of around 12 months to complete. However, the duration may range from 8 months up to 2 years in certain cases.
